Turkey's Alptekin wins women's 1500m

LONDON: Turkey's Asli Cakir Alptekin won the women's Olympic 1500m on Friday in 4min 10.23sec.

Another Turk, Gamze Bulut, took silver in 4:10.40, with Bahrain's Ethiopian-born Maryam Jamal claiming bronze (4:10.74).
