Defending champion and top-seeded Simona Halep of Romania was ousted by Ana Ivanovic of Serbia 7-6 (2), 6-2 at the Dubai Tennis Championships Wednesday.The 17th-ranked Ivanovic broke Halep's serve in the first game of the second set to reach the Dubai quarterfinals for the fourth time in her career.That match lasted for one and three-quarter hours, with Goerges plagued by five double-faults and suffering five breaks of serve. The 11th-ranked Spaniard Suarez Navarro won the first set against Garcia in 44 minutes but found herself level-pegging at one set each as Garcia converted on a third set point in the second.
