Attempts to evacuate families of militants fail as wives refuse to leave besieged camp

Six Lebanese soldiers and a civilian were killed on Thursday during exceptionally fierce fighting between the Lebanese Army and Fatah al-Islam militants in Nahr al-Bared, a day after an evacuation that reportedly cleared all remaining civilians, with the exception of the militants' families. In a marked intensification of fighting, the army appeared.
