As world leaders gather in Germany to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, a thought should be spared to other barriers - both physical and psychological - that persist as we enter a new decade. The Middle East in the 21st century is a region where barriers reign supreme. Developments over the past week provide us with a few examples that attest to this.
