Heat wave sparks off massive forest fires across Lebanon

Large fires broke out in the north and south of Lebanon on Monday due to the recent heat wave that assailed the country while Civil Defense forces struggled to put out the flames. In the north a large fire broke out Sunday night in the town of Tikrit, ravaging fields of olive and fruit trees and threatening to burn down homes in the village.
