The head of the Beirut Bar Association urged the Interior and Justice ministries to take the necessary steps to end attacks on and violations of lawyers' rights and civil liberties. Following a series of separate attacks against several lawyers, association president Ramzi Jreij issued a statement in which he said his group would not only condemn the incidents, but also resort to escalatory steps to confront the continued violations against its members.
