At least three people have died in a cold wave that has swept Lebanon over the last two weeks, with weather forecasters expecting the freezing temperatures to ease on Wednesday. Environmental expert Wilson Rizk told The Daily Star on Tuesday that the cold wave had resulted from two factors: global warming and air pollution.
