Poll observers cite over 900 'critical violations' of law

Unexpectedly high voter turnout on Sunday contributed to a number of violations of Lebanon's electoral law, domestic observers told The Daily Star. Long lines and frustrated voters led to procedural problems and facilitated over 900 "critical violations" of the law, said Carmen Jeha, the Deputy Coordinator of the Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE).
