Politicians and religious leaders were quick to condemn the celebratory gunfire that rippled through Beirut on Thursday. The outbreaks of gunfire could be heard ringing across many parts of the city as Amal Movement supporters greeted the re-election of MP Nabih Berri as parliamentary speaker.
