General Jamil al-Sayyed published a letter on Thursday criticizing UN chief Ban Ki-moon, saying Ban should have acted on a Syrian request to open a probe into fraud and other violations committed by former Commissioner of the UN International Independent Investigation Commission Detlev Mehlis. Syria alleged Mehlis and his assistant plotted to falsely accuse Syria.
