About 100 leading loyalist figures met in Ain al-Tineh to reassert what they called Lebanon's "special relations" with Syria amid growing opposition demands that Damascus stop interfering in Lebanese politics. Speaker Nabih Berri, who hosted the rally in his official residence insisted that it was not aimed at opposing the Bristol gathering.
