Rafik Hariri, Lebanon's former prime minister, killed in Monday's massive car bombing had a vision when he took power in 1992 of building a prosperous country from the ruins of civil war. As the symbol of both Lebanon's political and economic rebirth his untimely death leaves a huge vacuum in the country's political process.
