U.S. Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman denied visiting any polling stations during the first round of elections in Beirut, stressing that reports in the media to that extent were false. In a harsh statement, the U.S. Embassy criticized Lebanese officials who had condemned Feltman's alleged interference in the polls when he visited polling stations.
