The head of Socialist International, an umbrella organization of the world's socialist parties, said the Lebanese parliamentary elections concluded Sunday were "transparent, democratic and problem free." Luis Ayala, SI's secretary general and lead election observer, was speaking during a news conference at Progressive Socialist Party headquarters in Beirut.
