Syria takes step to move students home

The Syrian Higher Education Council issued a law allowing Syrian students in Lebanon who have completed their first year at Lebanese universities to enroll in public Syrian universities. The security situation in Lebanon caused the council to enact the legislation, according to Higher Education Minister Ghayyath Barakat as quoted in the Syrian daily Al-Thawra.
