Much of Lebanon was in mourning on Thursday for MP Antoine Ghanem, whose assassination a day earlier plunged the country deeper into its 10-month-old political deadlock and threatened to derail efforts to elect the next president. Banks, schools, universities and many businesses closed a day after a car bomb killed Ghanem.
