Ankara 'offered to help reconcile' Beirut, Damascus

Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan has offered his country's mediation to improve relations between Lebanon and Syria, London's Al-Hayat newspaper reported Saturday. According to the Saudi-owned daily, Babacan made the offer to Prime Minister Fouad Siniora during a dinner meeting hosted by the former at the Grand Serail on Friday.
