A senior International Monetary Fund official said on Thursday that the Lebanese government has one of two choices to contain the budget deficit: either cut spending or raise taxes. But neither of these ideas was well received by Finance Minister Mohammed Shatah, who stressed during a press conference with Domenico Fanizza.
