North African movies tend to play a prominent role in the region's film festivals and this year's Cairo International Film Festival was no exception. Six of the 11 films in CIFF's Arabic Feature Film competition come from west of the Nile. Half this number emerged from Tunisia. Tunis has enjoyed a relatively long history of film projection and production.
