Jacques Audiard's "Un Prophete" emerges out of darkness. A young man is being arrested for some anonymous crime. The soundtrack overhears his struggle as he's brought in. The visual depiction, however, is confined, the obscured image at the center of the frame cramped within darkness, reminiscent of the stylistic conventions of some early silent film.
