In every war there is usually an image capturing its spirit. In July 2006, it was the before-and-after satellite photograph of the Haret Hreik district of Beirut's southern suburbs showing the precision of Israeli war technologies used, the devastation they left behind, but also the ability of satellites to capture close-up views of buildings and streets.
