As difficult as it seems, information on the situation in Iraq always seems to get more and more depressing. A recent report on the effects of violence in Iraq carried out by Iraqi and American public health researchers from Johns Hopkins University states that nearly 655,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed since the occupation of the country in March 2003.
