In its nuclear standoff with the West, Tehran has the world over a barrel - or rather 2.5 million barrels, that being Iran's daily total of oil exports. So the prospect of sanctions against the Islamic Republic could be as expensive for the rest of the world (try $80+ for oil) as it would undoubtedly be costly for the Iranians.
