Abdel-Halim Khaddam, a former vice president of Syria, has raised eyebrows with his accusations against the regime in Damascus. Most recently he has caused a stir with his claims that he has evidence that President Bashar Assad ordered the killing of former Lebanese Premier Rafik Hariri.
