A series of summer plane crashes – the latest on Wednesday, leaving more than 150 dead in Iran – have done little to inspire confidence in air travel. June and July have been particularly deadly months for passengers travelling internationally. On June 1, an Air France flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris fell into the Atlantic killing all 228 passengers on board.
