Because the end of Lebanon's national dialogue is in sight, it is an appropriate time to consider what the talks have achieved and how they might continue to serve as a forum to address pressing national issues. The dialogue was initially convened to discuss the future of Syrian-Lebanese relations, the prosecution of suspects in the murder of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the fate of Emile Lahoud's presidency.
