What a difference a few weeks can make. In early May, gunmen from Speaker Nabih Berri's Amal movement and MP Walid Jumblatt's Progressive Socialist Party were killing one another. And yet on Tuesday, the two parties produced a joint statement committing to dialogue, the use of democratic competition instead of armed conflict.
