U.S. and Iraqi forces are preventing hundreds of Syrian trucks from entering Syrian territories through a crossing northeast of the country, creating a backlog of transit trucks stranded on the border, a Syrian customs official said yesterday. With only a week until the deadline for a new constitution, a massive sandstorm derailed a crucial meeting of Iraqi leaders.
