Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday swore in a new government headed by his national security adviser, with a strong mandate to crack down on Islamic militancy but to ensure progress in political liberalization. Prime Minister Maarouf al-Bakheet told Abdullah after the brief ceremony that "security and stability will remain a Jordanian distinction.
