Britain denies it has fixed date for Iraq troop withdrawal

Britain's Defense Ministry said Tuesday there was no fixed date for withdrawing coalition troops from Iraq after a newspaper said a pullout would begin once a permanent government was installed in Baghdad. "We're not going to set dates," a spokesman told AFP, reiterating that the process of handing over security duties to Iraqi forces could begin in 2006.
