Racing to get to the fourth-year final exams she had diligently studied for, Hent Khaled Alwan hopped onto a bus and looked forward to acing her test. But the 15-minute bus ride turned into a one-hour ordeal due to one of the city's many impromptu military check-points. She nearly flunked.
