Israeli warplanes flew over Syrian President Bashar Assad's palace Wednesday to warn Syria against supporting Palestinians who abducted an Israeli soldier as the Jewish state launched a pre-dawn ground and air assault on the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian government called for a prisoner swap with Israel to solve the crisis.
