U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell says he hopes to be able to remove Saudi Arabia from the State Department list of religiously intolerant countries. In an interview broadcast Thursday on the Saudi-owned satellite television Al-Arabiyya, Powell also said the United States was determined to hold elections in Iraq in January, despite the insurgency.
