Syria accused Israel of assassinating a Palestinian living in the country in what it called a serious development affecting regional relations, the Syrian state news agency said on Sunday. A bomb killed Khalil, a Hamas official, in Damascus on Sunday when it tore through his car. Israeli Channel 2 television said Israel was behind the death.
