While the UN Security Council explores ways to pursue the diplomatic pressure it put on Syria and Lebanon in Resolution 1559 six weeks ago, the United States is carefully pushing ahead on three related areas of cooperation with Syria that are likely to determine if the American-Syrian relationship improves or deteriorates in coming months.
