A battle between Tuareg rebels and Mali government forces in which 32 fighters were killed has taken tensions in the main Tuareg region to a new height. Tuareg rebels attacked army positions in Mali's far northeast late on Wednesday. The clashes at Abeibara left 15 government soldiers dead and six wounded.
