Mauritania junta chief denies plans to retain power

The head of Mauritania's military junta, who took power after an August coup, said on Friday he did not intend to "remain in power," state media reported. I "did not undertake this action either through a desire to take power or to stay there," said General Mohammad Ould Abdel-Aziz in a speech.
