The Tehran stock market clawed back some losses after Iran's president-elect moved to reassure traders that his brand of religious conservatism was not at odds with the bourse.

On Saturday, the market took fright and shed 1 percent after Tehran's hardline mayor, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, won presidential election.
