Thirty-three year-old Kareem Sajid, an Iraqi labourer, feels his days of poverty are over, at least for the next few weeks. Sajid is one of some 2,000 Iraqis working on a landfill project on the southwestern outskirts of Baghdad, bankrolled by a small part of the $18.4 billion Iraq reconstruction package approved by the United States last year.
