Two years ago, Saudi novelist and political commentator Turki al-Hamad appeared on BBCWorld's Hard Talk with Tim Sebastian. In a manner typical of that species of British broadcast journalist - badgering, inquisitive - Sebastian hammered Hamad with questions about the four fatwas (religious rulings).
