Franz Ferdinand to play 2005 Byblos Festival
Confirmation of the act is a good sign for this year's festival scene

The British new wave rock band Franz Ferdinand will play Lebanon's Byblos Festival on July 28 this year the organizers told The Daily Star today. In a fantastic coup for Byblos and a positive follow-up to 2004's groundbreaking gig from Placebo, Glasgow's BRIT-award winning, art-damaged rock quartet will bring a welcome breath of fresh air and plenty of electric energy to the nation's youth.
