"To me, ticket sellers represent hope." The ticket sellers Hany Tamba is referring to - wads of lottery tickets in hand, calling out the prize money up for grabs or the day of the draw - are a common sight on Beirut streets. They're also a motif of sorts in Tamba's slim oeuvre, beginning both the short films he has written and directed.
