A loud explosion was heard on Wednesday afternoon in Beirut's Manara district, residents said.The blast between the Long Beach and Sporting Club swimming facilities in the area demolished a car and wounded an undisclosed number of people. A car was in flames and black smoke was seen rising from a narrow street off the main waterfront in Manara.
