With the flip of a switch, a pixelated woman in a red dress materializes.In these pieces, RGB LED displays augment an acrylic-on-paper collage so that the works' central figures glow electronically from behind the media.Liu Dao's works are part of Art on 56th's "Collective 2015," a show that brings together a medley of established and emerging artists from the gallery's repertoire."Collective 2015" includes sculpture, painting, photography and mixed-media works from the Middle East, Asia and Europe. Beneath the layers of glaze and paint, however, the artist apparently used an actual suit as the mold."Collective 2015" is on view at Art on 56th through Sept. 30 .
