Talents Beirut's 23 young filmmakers were selected June by a jury composed of Claudia Jubeh (a founding member and programmer of Arab Film Festival Berlin – ALFILM,), Kuwaiti producer Talal al-Muhanna, Lebanese film editor Carine Doumit, sound engineer Victor Bresse and associate producer Myriam Sassine. The event does have a public program, however, the most conspicuous facet being the second edition of German Film Week in Lebanon, organized by the Goethe-Institut and the Metropolis Association to run in parallel with Talents Beirut.Sound designer Frank Kruse has over 50 film credits, works that range all over the cinematic map.The film editors attending Talents Beirut will also provide consulting services to three AFAC-funded projects now in postproduction. This year the Robert Bosch Foundation will use Talents Beirut as a platform to introduce its new film prize, which is open to filmmakers and producers in the Arab World working in short fiction, documentary or animation film.
