With snow covering the mountains ever since the first big storms of the season rolled over Lebanon around New Year's Eve, the country's winter resorts have experienced what many called one of the best ski seasons in years. Though the final data has yet to be released, this year's ski season has by far exceeded last year's, when a lack of snow meant that most resorts could operate their slopes for only a few weeks.Nour Saab, who manages the Laqlouq resort in Mount Lebanon, said the 2019 season was one of the best in the past 10 years for her resort. Elie Fakhry, the general manager of the Cedars resort, estimates that his operation's sales volume increased about 40 or 50 percent compared with last year, calling it the best season since he started working there in 2014 .The Mzaar resort, the largest ski resort in the Middle East, also had one of the best seasons in years, according to marketing and development manager Nicole Wakim.
