Basateen residents protest over poor state of roads

BEIRUT: Residents of a neighborhood in Baalbek held a sit-in Sunday to protest a lack of government action on the poor state of roads in the area, the National News Agency reported.

According to the NNA, resident of Basateen organized a sit-in during which they burned tires and called on relevant authorities to undertake roadwork to fix a street in their neighborhood.

The protesters also called for a solution to the problem of sewage in the neighborhood, asking authorities to work quickly to resolve both issues before the coming winter season.
