Gunmen kill man, wound another in east Lebanon

HERMEL, Lebanon: Gunmen opened fire overnight Friday on two men in the western Bekaa Valley town of Hawsh al-Harimi, killing one of them and wounding the other, security sources told The Daily Star.

The sources said the gunmen were in a car when they fired at another vehicle carrying Khaled A. and Rabih A. around 1:30 a.m. in the morning.

Khaled died instantly while Rabih suffered serious wounds and was taken to a local hospital.

The sources said that the incitement was a suspected revenge attack.

An investigation into the incident is under way, the sources said.
