Police launched a city-wide crackdown on slaughterhouses, restaurants and other food shops selling contaminated food in Sidon Friday, going after establishments blacklisted by the Ministry of Health.Police sealed the door of Sidon's branch of Pizza Hut, and shuttered two slaughterhouses in the area villages of Ghazieh and Baysariyyeh for health violations. Gen. Bassam Ayyoubi and a health ministry inspector implemented a decision by North Lebanon Governor Ramzi Nohra to close down the slaughterhouse.The decision was issued after the governor received a health ministry report listing changes that need to be made to conform to health standards.
