Controversial north Lebanon MP Khaled Daher and the families of Islamist inmates demanded the dissolution of Lebanon's Military court Sunday at a protest denouncing the verdict issued against former minister Michel Samaha."The issue is not the lenient sentence issued against the criminal agent but rather it is the issue of injustice, aggression and assault that affects all the Sunni people," Daher said during a protest staged near Martyrs' Square in Downtown Beirut Sunday. He said that despite the end of Syrian tutelage over Lebanon, the residues of the Syrian security apparatus continue to terrorize, torture and arrest the Sunni youth in Lebanon through the Military Court. During Sunday's protest, Imm Misaab, a woman representing the families of Islamist prisoners, called on authorities to work towards lifting the injustice imposed on those who were imprisoned by the Military Court.
